*Volunteers Needed – Miners Gala 2026*
We’re looking for volunteers to help carry the *Haswell banner* at the *Miners Gala* on *Saturday 11th July 2026*.
The Miners’ Gala, often known as The Big Meeting, is a proud and long-standing tradition in County Durham. It brings communities like *Haswell* together to honour the history, resilience, and spirit of mining families who shaped our village. It’s a day of unity, remembrance, and pride—where banners tell the stories of our past and present.

- Luncheon Club – 2-course meal with table service, takeaway available, £4 donation.
- Baby Bank - The Baby Bank supports local families with baby essentials.
- Sip & Sizzle Sundays - Sip & Sizzle Sundays bring everyone together for a friendly community breakfast.
- Community Pantry - The Community Pantry offers affordable food in a welcoming space.
- Play Together - Weekly play sessions for babies, toddlers and their grown-ups.
- Bereavement Support Group - Get help and support with your grief journey.
- Employment Support Group - Help with CV's, job applications and interview techniques.
- Kids Kabin - Learn, create, explore & make new friends.
- Pilates - Stretch, strengthen and meet new people.
- Sewing Group - Learn/improve your sewing skills.
